Electric Handpiece Repair Service
Highspeed Electric Handpieces
Pinpoint Dental Equipment Service services all brands of electric highspeed and lowspeed handpieces such as Kavo, W&H Adec, NSK, Star, and others.
As you can see in the photo above, electric highspeed handpieces are more complex, and have many more parts involved in the operation as compared with highspeed air drive handpieces. For this reason, costs of repair depend on what parts need replaced. Check out my video from my maintenance tips page explaining how you can cut costs on these repairs.
Pinpoint Dental Equipment Service will disassemble and inspect your handpiece and give you a free estimate and let you know what parts are damaged or worn and cost of repair.
High speed 1:5 increasing ratio handpiece repair costs typically average in the $210.00 to $345.00 range, or higher depending on the extent of parts damage.
Lowspeed Electric Handpieces and Heads
Lowspeed pushbutton latch bur types, normally cost much less to repair due to the reduction of wear from lower speed of operation. From my experience, most lowspeed repairs only require bearing replacements.
This means the typical cost on a lowspeed electric handpiece will usually run from about $79.00 to $129.00 (higher if major parts require replacement, such as a main drive shaft assembly). For those handpieces which allow swapping out heads, such as going from a pushbutton or lever type latch head, to a pushbutton friction grip head, normally just the head needs serviced.
As with all handpieces serviced by Pinpoint Dental Equipment Service, each is thoroughly cleaned, parts are inspected for wear and replaced as needed, then assembled, lubricated and tested.
Since costs vary with electric handpieces Pinpoint Dental Equipment Service will call you, per your request to advise if the repair cost would be unusually high due to excessive wear on costlier parts which require replacement.
